SKY WATCH

Haven't you looked in to the night sky yet? If not, then hurry up because the Heavens have lots of fascination in store for you the close of this year and the next year. Starting with the grand Jupiter which is visible right now in the sky, if you look closely into the sky (of course avoiding the city lights) you will find a bright non twinkling object in the sky. If you are watching from your terrace, the only thing apart from the moon that you are going to see in the sky is the Jupiter. Last time Jupiter was seen to close to earth walls in 1963 (almost 50 years) and it will not get any more close until 2002. So, just grab a telescope and try to observe the close belts of Jupiter along with its moon. The next one Is Uranus. Well, you can't see it your and the surrounding ares of the city due to heavy lights, but yes if you look at the sky from any country, where there is not much of light you can see a sparkling blue dot in  the sky. That's Uranus. Uranus is also visible right now in the night sky. So this is the best chance to look at the beautiful planets up close. Grab a telescope or a binocular even on December 21, for at midnight you shall see the rare lunar eclipse. Although it shall be hugely visible in North America, but even here in India it is a good scope to watch the lunar eclipse. But that's not all to be wrapped up. You can even watch the beautiful meteor shower "Quadrantids Meteor Shower". They will be visible in January 3, 4/2012 from any dark region at midnight.
